Why so serious?
I just came back from seeing The Dark Knight, which is just as amazing as everyone says it is. Heath Ledger absolutely steals the show, with his untimely death haunting his screen presence as the manic Joker. The posthumous Oscar buzz is definitely no joke.
Since I wasn’t one of the diehard fans who saw it on opening night, I didn’t see anyone dressed up for the occasion at my theater. However, this picture from The New York Times inspired me to do a little search on Flickr for pictures tagged with “darkknight” + “joker” to see what Ledger’s character inspired among fans. My favorite photos (see below) were uploaded around the time of Ledger’s death as tributes. As creepy as it may sound, this is going to be one hot look for Halloween this year.
